ONE OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA FAVOURITE SEASIDE TOWNS

Location | Busselton

Busselton is one of Western Australias favourite seaside towns, nestled at the northern end of beautiful Geographe Bay. Gateway to the world famous Margaret River wine region and home to the iconic Busselton Jetty and it’s amazing waterfront precinct, Busselton is an ideal destination for your whale watching experience.

Busselton is only a 2 hour and 50 minute drive from Perth City. If you are looking for a shorter travel time than a quick 50 minute flight will be the answer. Busselton has all you need and more for a short or long stay. Whether you are visiting the area with friends, your partner or your family there is always plenty to do here.

The centre of town is the hub for all your shopping needs. Whether it is an upmarket fashion outlet or second hand opshops you are after, both are catered for here. If you are thirsty or hungry then the Busselton Foreshore is a must!

With new restaurants opening up within the last year there are more choices than ever before! The best produce in the southwest is on offer and just a short stroll down the jetty you can go whale watching! Naturaliste Charters will take you on a journey into the calm waters of Geographe Bay for an unrivaled Busselton Whale Watching Experience.

Each year whales migrate past the south west of Western Australia. They are heading north first, to warm waters to give birth and nurse their young. The first sightings of these whales begin in May off the southern coastline. Once the whales have gone north they then turn around and head back to their feeding grounds in Antarctica. It is on this south-bound journey that the whales visit Busselton.

From the months of September to November, these marine mammoths can be sighted! They follow the coastline into the calm, crystal clear water. They are in search of shallow water to replenish their energy stores. Geographe Bay is the final resting spot of their six-month journey and it is imperative that they stop here!

While on your busselton whale watching experience you can witness up to four different species of whales! Each bigger than the last, these species are bound to leave you in awe of their beauty and wonder!

They may be resting, nursing, playing and frolicking or even breaching! The behaviour of these whales changes by the minute. One moment they could be motionless and resting, the next you are eye-ball to eye-ball with one of the largest animals on the planet. A large pectoral flipper can extend out of the deep blue to give you a wave, it is hard not to wave back!

All of this and so much more on your busselton whale watching experience with Naturaliste Charters.
